The January 16th meeting was intended as a continuation of initial discussions started last August between Entité 4 and health service providers (HSPs) of its territory. The main thrust of these discussions was the development and implemenation of tools which support French language health services.
This meeting was an excellent opportunity to learn and interact with professionals in the field. Three panelists who use active offer on a daily basis were invited to share their experiences on the practical application of this principle:
- David Jeffrey, CEO, CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre, Midland
- Guylaine Jaeger, Coordinator, Credit Valley Family Health Team, Mississauga
- Daniel Merritt, Director, Organizational Development, Champlain Community Care Access Centre (CCAC)
Twenty-five people attended the roundtable. These included HSP’s from Entité 4’s territory, representatives of Central East, Central and North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), Réseau franco-santé du Sud de l’Ontario (RFSSO) and of Central CCAC who hosted the event at its premises.
At the end of the meeting, HPSs expressed their satisfaction at having been involved in such an exchange. They also expressed the desire to have more meetings of this nature in order to share best practices for the offer of French-language health services.
