The designation of Catholic Family Services of Durham (CFSD) is effective July 1, 2015. This organisation provides services in French for the residents of Durham Region since 2009.

Counselling services are available to support women and children who have experienced domestic violence, and to support individuals, couples and families experiencing difficult in areas such as coping with grief and loss, managing transitional changes, work related difficulties, tendency to addiction, struggling to overcome the effect of past abuse, relationship issues as well as managing stress, anxiety or depression.

CFSD began the application process for designation to provide the French community with the assurance that this commitment would continue into the future, thereby fostering the mental health well-being of the French community.
